Job Title: Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Summary:

The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Flipkart’s databases to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance. The DBA will work closely with the development team to optimize database performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Administration

• Design, implement, and maintain databases to meet business requirements
• Ensure database security, integrity, and availability
• Perform database backups, restores, and upgrades
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues

Performance Optimization

• Analyze database performance and identify areas for improvement
• Optimize database configuration, indexing, and queries for better performance
• Implement caching and other optimization techniques

Data Management

• Ensure data consistency and integrity across databases
• Develop and implement data backup and recovery strategies
• Manage data replication and synchronization across databases

Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with development teams to understand database requirements
• Communicate database design and implementation plans to stakeholders
• Provide training and support to development teams on database best practices

Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

Experience:

• At least 2 years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL
• Experience with database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of database concepts, data modeling, and database design
• Experience with database administration tools such as MySQL Workbench, Oracle Enterprise Manager, or PostgreSQL pgAdmin
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
